"Location is really important to me, I really like being close to the nightlife. I don't do work at home really, so when I am home I want to enjoy the space I have, specifically the outdoor space. Moving is a hassle so I try to avoid it, but my landlord is super chill and hands off, so it makes our lives easier. I want my house to have an identity that I can associate with, somewhere like Big Red."

The cheap finishes of the house really irk me, and I didn't really see them when I first toured. It makes it hard for me to want to spend time in the space, no matter how much I dress it up. I've actually ended up in litigation with my landlord over the house being so out of repair that I've lost belongings. The most I do at home is eat and sleep, I hardly get any work done there. I don't have an outdoor space in this apartment and it really bums me out."

"I hardly ever toured my houses I lived in during undergrad, honestly the quality of it doesn't make much of a difference to me. However, location is important to me. As well as bad roommates that don't have respect for me or what I bring into the space makes things tense at home. My landlord generally leaves me alone, so that's nice. I like having outdoor space because I like having somewhere to play my guitar and relax after a long week."

Jackie is from Queens, NY. She has an apartment on south campus. She has one roommate that's been her friend since freshman year, they both depend on the bus. Living on south was an obvious pick for the both of them because they enjoy having a kitchen, the space, and freedom, to cook. They do both long for a larger cooking space. She loves the fast pace of her major, and spends long hours working in the studio. She also has a very active social life and loves attending events. Every Sunday her and her roommate spend the morning cleaning their apartment floor to ceiling. Safety is of minor concern to her as South is patrolled regularly.

Hernan is from Los Angeles. he lives in a house on Ostrom Ave with 7 roommates that are all in the same fraternity. He doesn't really worry about money as his family owns a car dealership back in LA. While the boys try to keep the house livable, it understandably can and often does fall by the wayside. Especially after throwing a busy social weekend. He has a car he uses for getting groceries and going out, but mostly walks to class. One of his main hobbies outside of school and teeming social life is working on his car. Amenities are not of concern to him. Nor is safety as there are 8 grown men living in his house.

Laura is a mechanical engineering major from Washington D.C. She lives in a luxury apartment in Park Point that she discovered through a friends recommendation. She is mildly annoyed by the high foot traffic area, but finds comfort knowing there are always people around and feels safe knowing there is round the clock security provided by the building. She lives alone but enjoys the companionship her dog, Bear, brings her. Her only issue with the building is that it doesn't provide an outdoor space for Bear. Proximity to main campus is important to her because she enjoys being apart of campus culture. The only thing which keeps her from that, is the rigor of her studies.

Sam is from Portland, Maine. He currently lives on Euclid Ave because he enjoys the proximity to campus. He, and his 3 other roommates he met through campus, live peaceably. He generally relies on his roommates who have cars to take him along when they go run errands. He isn't looking to spend more than he needs as far as price is concerned, but he's willing to pay more based off quality of housing or amenities. He is a member of an academic fraternity because he is seeking professional connections. He enjoys an active social life. He lives in a high traffic area so safety is not much of a concern to him or his roommates.
